I primarily sell my alpaca items through craft shows. I spin, knit, crochet, weave - almost everything is from the fiber of my alpacas.
We also have a small farm store – not much larger than my craft show booth – which is open by appointment.
See my 2015 craft show schedule at the bottom of the page.
Here a few of the items we have for sale:
Three styles of felted hats –
To make these hats, I take the “seconds” or less than prime fiber from Belle and Petey – my white alpacas – and have the mill make yarn, blending in some merino as I like the way a bit of wool affects the felting process. I first dye the yarn, then knit the hat, then wet felt it. These hats are shaped on a medium (22 – 23”) hat mold.
Neck warmers –
These are crocheted on imported Peruvian yarn that I have first dyed.
Hand dyed yarns -
I began dyeing yarn when I was unable to find commercial alpaca yarn in the range of colors that I like. This is imported Peruvian yarn.
I do some hand-painting but prefer gradients of one shade as that is what I prefer to knit with.
Hand woven scarves –
These are made out of imported Peruvian yarn. I begin with three skeins of lace weight yarn, dye each skein a different color or a different shade of the same color. I then triple strand the warp and weft.
I make flower pins out of my leftover yarn as shoppers like to switch the colors on the hats that they buy.
Also a few flower brooches -
